Hurry up and wait

After so much activity...quiet. Thursday and today have been very quiet. I have four fires I've been asked to mapped, but image acquisitions don't happen until Saturday, Monday, and Wednesday. Today I will back up many of the Landsat scenes I've purchased this fire year that are spinning on my hard drive. Those things begin to take up space in a hurry.

We'll be looking for imagery of the Brins and Warm Fires tomorrow. Hopefully, we'll get some clear skies and delivery of imagery on Saturday night. That would be ideal. Now that we're in the middle of the summer, Arizona and New Mexico are getting afternoon clouds every day over all their mountain tops, often obscuring the burn scars we're trying to image. I've had Landsat, ASTER, and SPOT 4 all attempt to image the Bear Fire on the Gila NF and have been unsuccessful up to this point. Hopefully things will work out next week.
