Landsat acquisition today

So, here's how it works...

Landsat 5 TM will be overhead the 103 Fire in Arizona today. We'll track its acquisition and see if we got a clear picture (should be as the temps should be about 102 down there with no clouds). If it's clear, we'll order it with an appropriate pre-fire scene as well. EROS (USGS Center for Earth Resources Observation and Science) will process both scenes and have them to me by noon tomorrow. Once I get it, I do some correction to the imagery (top of atmospheric reflectance correction) and then run my models to create the dNBR (differenced Normalized Burn Ratio).

That fella is slightly simplified and truncated to create our BARC product. That's the guy I send out to the field. I'll also include image subsets and a Google Earth KMZ file that allows users to import this data into Google Earth for easy (!) 3D visualization.
